The all-Asian Eurasia Motorsport team is set to make history, as it has been granted a coveted entry to the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe (18-19 June).

As its name suggests, Eurasia Motorsport is a bi-continental fusion of talented and committed staff from the European and Asian continents, bringing the best of both worlds together to create a potent platform for success.

Eurasia amalgamates world class driver development, international engineering excellence, local knowledge and the highest standards of preparation, and boasts broad and wide-ranging foundations in single-seaters and Pro-Am sportscar racing.

The Philippines-based team achieved no fewer than 39 championship titles during a decade of competition in some of Asia’s most prestigious single-seater, sportscar and touring car racing arenas, and, somewhat inevitably, it has gone on to traverse continents and make a splash in Europe.

Eurasia Motorsport backed up its remarkable record in Asian motorsport with a super-successful learning year in the 2015 European Le Mans Series (ELMS), in which it established itself as a regular top five finisher and podium threat.

As a result of its potent form and the results achieved on its ‘Road to Le Mans’ in both the Asian and European Le Mans Series’, Eurasia Motorsport will head to France’s Loire Valley in mid-June to take its position on the starting grid at Circuit de la Sarthe with its brand new ORECA 05 Nissan LMP2 prototype.

Last year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans attracted an audience of more than 30million television viewers and 630,000-plus trackside spectators and the need for an expanded 60-strong entry, which includes 22 LMP2 cars, is testament to the French endurance classic’s ever-increasing popularity.

Speaking after the Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s ceremony in Paris, Eurasia Motorsport Team Principal, Mark Goddard, said: “Eurasia Motorsport is incredibly excited to have the opportunity to compete in the world’s greatest race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I like to think we are representing Asian motorsport with our all-Asian team and the fact Eurasia has an entry reflects the growth and success of the sport, but particularly the Asian Le Mans Series (AsLMS). This will also be a very exciting opportunity for Kevin Pu Jun Jin, who will be a proud representative of China.”
