HI-TEC OILS, one of Australia’s largest independent oil manufacturers, will be the naming-rights sponsor for the inaugural Bathurst 6 Hour Production Car race to be held at the 2016 Bathurst Motor Festival.

Event promoter Yeehah Events is also pleased to confirm the appointment of production house AVE to provide television services, allowing the inaugural race to be streamed live on the internet on Sunday, 27 March. All Bathurst Motor Festival categories competing that Sunday will receive streaming coverage.

A one-hour highlights program showcasing all the 6 Hour race action will be produced to air on SBS Speedweek in the weeks following the Event.

As part of their title sponsorship of the Bathurst 6 Hour – currently a one-year agreement that covers the 2016 race – Hi-Tec Oils will also provide two super screens to allow vision to be shown to patrons at the Event on the Sunday.

“It’s a big step for Hi-Tec Oils to have our company name on the track at Bathurst,” Hi-Tec Oils owner George Gambino said.

16417763633_0637b12fd9_z“It’s the first time we have done any sponsorship at Bathurst and I never thought I’d see the company name on the famous bridge. We’re happy to be involved in the first Bathurst 6 Hour: any race at Bathurst has a certain level of prestige but there is something special about endurance racing there.

“We are excited as a company to be part of the very first race and continue our support of the sport and, specifically, Production Car racing.

“Our company is growing quickly and our involvement with the sport has been a big part of that growth. Hi-Tec Oils is pleased to take another step by backing the Bathurst 6 Hour – it’s going to be a great race.”

“We are pleased to welcome Hi-Tec Oils on board as we continue to grow momentum for the Bathurst 6 Hour and with it, the Bathurst Motor Festival,” added Event Director James O’Brien.

“George Gambino and his company have been great supporters of Production Car racing and motorsport in general over the years and it’s great to see their enthusiasm for what is a brand-new Event on the calendar.

“TV coverage remains a critical pathway to generating growth and we are pleased to be working with AVE to ensure live streaming and post-produced TV coverage for the Bathurst 6 Hour next year.”

To be promoted and organised by the same promoters of the annual Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour will be contested by cars complying with CAMS Group 3E Production Car regulations.

The new ‘marquee’ race for Production Car racing in Australia comes after several years of strong grids at the Bathurst Motor Festival presented by the New South Wales Production Touring Car series.

This year, a capacity field contested two, one-hour races won on Sunday by Sydney driver Dylan Thomas in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X and on Saturday by HSV driver Daniel Flanagan.
