Day one of the Dubai Autodrome national race day double header featuring the MRF Challenge, Radical Middle East Cup and Formula Gulf 1000, witnessed Alessandro Picariello, Jordan Oon and Richard Arrdolino posting wins on the day.
Picariello took top honours in the first of two MRF Challenge races and set the fastest lap in the process, after a long battle with Pietro ittipaldi and Nikita Triotcki who finished second and third respectively. Lady racer Tatiana Calderon was fourth ahead of Tarun Ready in fifth and Max Fewtrell sixth.
Race 2 got off to a dramatic start with Guliano Alesi, son of former F1 great Jean Alesi an early retirement which resulted in a red flag and a race restart.
After the restart Calderon made her way to the front and crossed the line first but the victory went to Reddy who was better classified thanks to the aggregate times of the first and second parts of the race combined. Thus Calderon was second, ahead of Triotcki in third.
Richard Ardolino scored his first win in the Radical Middle East Cup with a well calculated drive to claim top spot on the podium at the end of the 45 minutes race.
Ardolino, who drove the race solo, won by an 18 seconds margin over the second placed car of Romain Lutter and Loffredo Ludovic who shared driving duties. Jani Huerppe was third ahead of Julian Griffin in fourth and Sergey Shallunov fifth.
Oon took victory in the Formula Gulf 1000 race by 5.991 seconds over Mashur Bal Hejala in second and third place going to Cato Poulsen.
More of the same will take place on day two, Saturday, with two MRF Challenge races, a Formula Gulf 1000 race, another Radical Middle east Cup round with the NGK 3 Hours for GT and Touring cars also on the bill.
